As I sit in my house at 11:30 PM, the temperature in my living room is a frosty 84 degrees. I decided to give the air conditioner a break today and opened the windows in the house.
And now I need a reminder of WHY I love summer...as I sweat into the night:
1. Swimming
2. Grilling outdoors
3. Shorts
4. the feeling of sun warming my skin
5. (the best reason of all) Its NOT snowing, freezing, sleeting, or doing anything cold outside.
I hope I remember these when its minus 20 outside this winter.
Prayer for the day: help me to open my eyes to the joys of each day, instead of lamenting what I can't control.
Good night!

If a cluttered space yells at you....
then my house is screaming at me. I'd been telling myself for so many years that our house was so cluttered because we both worked and other things were more important than keeping the house spotless. Which was a great excuse until I quit working.
And yes, I stay home with the kids, and yes, the kids are a full time job all by themselves. BUT. I've come to two realizations. 1.) Husband and I are both packrats, and 2.) I can't take the STUFF yelling at me anymore.
Ok, 4 realizations. 3.) I miss creating things. Thats probably the biggest thing I miss about leaving my job - I'm no longer MAKING anything, and 4.) I can't create in the dumping ground that my "studio" (aka spare bedroom/office) has become.
Motivation, here I come!! My goal for the next thirty days is to take a bag of stuff out of the house every day, whether it is trash or a bag for the thrift store. We're not going to sell the house anytime soon, so I can't hang on to the dream of moving to a bigger space to solve my clutter woes. Organize and reduce!! Onward!!!
What is your goal for the month?
